Health workers, wrapped in protective suits, move from village to village, tracing contacts, begging communities to report symptoms early and avoid traditional burial practices that can fuel infection.

Ebola begins like so many other illnesses: fever, headache, aching joints, crushing fatigue, a sore throat that feels harmless at first. Then, for many, comes the terrifying turn—relentless vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, bleeding that cannot be explained. Survivors often carry scars you can’t see: vision damage, chronic pain, depression, memories they wish they could erase. Awareness, early treatment, and honest information remain the thin line between containment and catastrophe.
